There are a number of career opportunities within the world of sports and it is my aspiration to change the world one person at a time. I will continue to assess not only the needs in the organization I am a part of but the current benefits, and recent issues that I have seen especially in the perspective as a league director. The development model for health communication focuses on the communication occurring within the various relationships in healthcare settings. Its emphasis is on how different factors and contexts influence the interactions between different individuals in health communication. All the participants have their own persp ectives based on their individual beliefs and values. These perspectives influence the choice of the participants to interact with the others and as such healthcare personnel must always have this in mind (Hugman 2009, p.71). Importance of Skilful Communication as an Aspect of Care In an attempt to show the importance of communication in healthcare delivery, it is apparent that communication and healthcare delivery are indivisible. Delivery of healthcare to the patients encompasses more than just the administration of drugs. Healthcare delivery has moved from the task oriented practice it was in the past towards a therapeutic process that involves a wide range of roles focused on the health of the individual patients, their health and wellbeing (Tamparo Lindh 2008, p. 69). The therapeutic effect of good communication between healthcare professionals and patients on healthcare delivery cannot be ignored. Provision of social support to the patients reassures them and can even lower blood pressure. Patients regard the health professionals who communicate effectively at an emotional level as warm, caring and empathetic. This enables the patients to engender trust in them and encourages them to disclose worries and concerns that they would have otherwise not have disclosed. In addition to this, useful and informative communication between the healthcare professionals and the patients encourages them to take more interest in their condition, ask pertinent questions and develop greater understanding and self-care (Jones Jenkins 2007, p.38). It is this interest and understanding of the importance of self-care that drives the patients to positively change their health behaviours. This happens especially when the patients are allowed to ask questions and are involved in treatment decisions. The patients also experience benefits when the health professionals provide a good environment, give accurate information, use therapeutic communication and encourage positive motivation (Nemeth 2008, p. 93). Therefore good communication in the relationship between healthcare professionals and patients is an important tool for therapeutic intervention as well as good care. Basic communication skills alone are not sufficient to create and sustain successful therapeutic relationship between the patients and the healthcare providers. Successful therapeutic relationships are made up of shared perceptions and feelings on the nature of the problem, objectives of treatment and psychological support. Interpersonal skills develop from the basic communication between the doctors, nurses and other carers with the patients. Appropriate communication should be centred on both the carers and the patients as both sides are important in building and sustaining interpersonal relationships. The ultimate goal of any communication between the medical personnel and the patients is always to improve the health of the patients and medical care. Good communication skills are required for developing a high quality, effective and safe healthcare delivery. The skills are important for gathering information, diagnosis, treatment and educating the patients (Nemeth 2008, p.55). Eff ective communication benefits both the doctors and the patients because they are part of the treatment process. Previous studies on communication between the patients and doctors and nurses demonstrate that many patients are discontented even when the doctors and nurses consider it sufficient or excellent (Pilnick et al 2010, p 47). This implies that doctors and nurses often tend to overestimate their communication abilities. Patient surveys consistently indicate that the want the communication between them and the healthcare personnel to be improved (Tamparo Lindh 2008, p.88). In the past most of the medical personnel considered disclosing bad news to patients as inhumane and detrimental to their medical condition. However, medical practice has now evolved from paternalism to individualism and is now characterised by shared decision making and communication that is centred on the patients. Effective communication between the doctors and the patients is very important in clinical function because it plays a central role in healthcare delivery. Perhaps the most significant importance of communication in influencing health behaviour of the patients stems from the fact that the nature of health care is changing from treatment of illnesses to management of chronic disease as more and more people are now living with survivable chronic illnesses (Van 2009, p.74). This implies that the healthcare professionals need to encourage the patients to take good care of their health. For instance the patients living with diabetes are required to manage their blood sugar levels. Quality of life is more important to healthcare as patients are now living longer with chronic illnesses like cancer and bipolar disorders. Therefore treatment choice is now more dependent on the individual patients and must suit their preferences, values and expectations. Conclusion Communication is an important tool that healthcare personnel can use to pass useful information to the patients. Well educated patients and their families need to be informed to make important health decisions in order to attain the aims of managed healthcare. Healthcare professionals need to disseminate relevant and persuasive information to the patients to help them change their health behaviours. I had to make the lesson more interactive with the students .through this interaction; I recognized the areas where the students were facing challenges and addressed them. Students motivation to learn a second language will depend on the way I present ideas in class. Secondly, there is need to ensure that learners hear and see the second language easily. In cases whereby I used whiteboard during the lesson, I ensured that the points are well organized .during instances that I used images during teaching, I ensured that the images are clear and not ambiguous. Lastly, I gave students many opportunities to speak during class time and corrected fundamental mistakes done by the student. TV Violence Essays - Criminology, Crime, Dispute Resolution

TV Violence Affects of media violence "Nearly four decades of research on television viewing and other media have documented the almost universal exposure of U.S. children to high levels of media violence" (Norris, 187). Violence is a component characteristic of many television programs and unfortunately our lives. Every day we tend to watch news, and every day we hear that people were killed, robbed or tortured. Four out of ten people said that they had been the victims of actual or threatened violence in the United States. Usually I ask myself why some people have tendencies toward violence. What factors cause those violent and aggressive behaviors? Among broad other reasons such as mental health, personal characteristics and economic status there is the violence in media that gives people those nonsensical ideas and inspiration. In my Core II research paper, I am manly concerned how children K-12 are affected by movie and television violence. In the long-term research over the forty years, researchers have proven the link between watching television violence and perpetrating actual violence and that exposure to TV violence is hazardous to children health and welfare. Nonetheless, others have managed to conclude that there is no relationship what gives the issue controversy and a number of contributing factors must be consider (Journal of Psychology, July 1997). Factors that I have to take in consideration are: every day exposure to television (estimated time spent of watching TV), type of favorite programs, frequency of talking about death and violence with parents and friends, child age, gender differences, parental control and responsibility, peers, child's communication, orientation and interaction with environment and may other. Four years ago I in my psychology class I have studied about learning habits in early childhood when I encountered affects of movie and television violence on child development. It was from psychological perspective but it gave me a good insight about the topic. Almost every day track in the news and politics only expended my knowledge in this field. The only things I did not know were about U.S. Senate approval of an amendment which probe the marketing of violent and sexually explicit materials to minors, and about President Clintons effort and concern that children by the time they are eighteen will be very exposed to violence and dramatized murders on television and movies. Research for my topic I began at home on the Internet but with very indigent results. I found few sites with extensive information on movie and television violence but they did not provide me with enough information and I headed to the UCF library. In the library, I started my research using on-line library catalog and the Web-LOUIS system. Throughout these systems, I found several books related to my topic. These systems did not provide me with sufficient information on journal nor magazine sources related to my topic. Thus, I shifted to another host system to look for journal and magazine sources relevant to my research. At first, I found plenty articles in various magazines available in the UCF library, but when I narrowed my search, I obtained just enough to operate with. I wrote down the call numbers for these magazines and journeyed trough the library to find those specific articles. When I found articles relevant to my topic, not all were easy to find, I spent some quality time reading and researching. When I finished with sources available in the library I began my entire research process again but this time with Ebsco-hos where I also found loads of full text articles available on line relevant to my research. Despite all the difficulty I thought I would encounter in my research, I am satisfied with my research process what was very successful. I will pursue my research even expand it in order to obtain better understanding and more information on the issue, conduct one more interview not with ordinary people like I already did.

Celebrating Black History Month While the accomplishments of African-Americans should be celebrated all year long, February is the month when we focus on their contributions to American society. Why We Celebrate Black History Month The roots of Black History month can be traced to the early part of the 20th century. In 1925, Carter G. Woodson, an educator and historian, began campaigning among schools, journals and black newspapers calling for a Negro History Week to be celebrated. This would honor the importance of black achievement and contribution in the United States. He was able to institute this Negro History Week in 1926 during the second week of February. This time was chosen because Abraham Lincolns and Frederick Douglass birthdays occurred then. Woodson was awarded the Springarn Medal from the NAACP for his accomplishment. African Origins It is important for students not only to understand recent history concerning African-Americans, but also to understand their past. Before Great Britain made it illegal for the colonists to be involved in the slave trade, between 600,000 and 650,000 Africans were forcibly brought to America. They were transported across the Atlantic and sold into forced labor for the rest of their lives, leaving family and home behind. As teachers, we should not only teach about the horrors of slavery, but also about the African origin of the African-Americans who live in America today. Slavery has existed throughout the world since ancient times. However, one big difference between slavery in many cultures and the slavery that was experienced in America was that while slaves in other cultures could gain freedom and become part of society, African-Americans did not have that luxury. Because almost all of the Africans on American soil were slaves, it was extremely hard for any black person who had gained freedom to be accepted into society. Even after slavery was abolished following the Civil War, black Americans had a difficult time of being accepted into society. It was impossible for blacks to achieve equality in this atmosphere, especially in the South. Despite the efforts of individuals such as Martin Luther King, Jr., racism still exists today in America. As teachers, we need to fight against this with the best tool we have, education. We can enhance students views of African-Americans by stressing the numerous contributions they have given to American society. The enzymes work by speeding up these vital reactions in the body (Starr & McMillan, 2008, p.59). Enzymes include three different categories – metabolic, digestive, and plant enzymes. The digestive enzymes incorporate carbohydrates, proteins and fats that are required by the body. Enzyme and Its Role: Amylase: For this particular study, amylase has been selected, which is an enzyme available in the huma n body. The amylase enables the digestion of carbohydrates in the body. The pancreas and the glands that are generally responsible for the creation of saliva are also responsible for the production of amylases. With the inflammation of the pancreas, the amylases get released in the blood within the body (Amylase – blood, 2012). The amylases produced in the pancreas enable conversion of polysaccharides into disaccharide maltose. It is found in its active form. This is primarily because the secretory cells are not endangered when the amylases are in their active forms. Polysaccharides are not contained in these cells (Sherwood, 2008, p.614). The amylases may be of the salivary, the gastric, and the pancreatic. Salivary amylase is produced by salivary glands. Starch are the main targets of these enzymes that are broken down into maltose, that represent two glucose or sugar molecules that are in a bonded form. Gastric amylase targets those particles of starch that are remaining a nd enter the stomach. The pancreatic amylase proves to be essential allowing the digestion in the body (Wargolet, 2011). Consequently, materials could be mass produced rapidly and inexpensively, not only being applied to things like bricks, but also iron columns, glass panels etc., meaning structures of all types could be constructed quicker and cheaper than ever before. This generated a new potential of standardised designs, created from identical factory components, which could be mass produced improving the efficiency of construction time but not necessarily the quality. Through the rise of the revolution, architecture was now exposed to a magnitude of new construction methods. Structures consisting of metal columns and beams no longer needed walls for structural support, glass could be fashioned in larger sizes volumes and dense structures could be replaced by skeleton structures; making it possible to reach previously restricted height and width very quickly, using pre-fabricated elements.
